S&P Dow Jones Indices (“S&P DJI”) is seeking a Client Services Specialist to join the Global Client Services team in Mexico City. The team, which is part of the Commercial organization, strives to provide the highest level of support to S&P DJI’s clients with the ultimate goal of encouraging retention through the enhancement of the overall client experience. Global team members are currently based in Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Sydney, New York and Tokyo. Clients include, but are not limited to Investment Banks, Asset Managers, Insurance companies, ETF product providers, Pension Funds, Endowments and Foundations and Investment Management Consultants.

The ideal candidate is able to:

  • Confidently answer client inquiries received via email and phone with little to no assistance
  • Prioritize inquiries, multi-task and thrive in a team environment.
  • Troubleshoot client access to proprietary (e.g.: FTP, SPICE) and non-proprietary (e.g.: Bloomberg, FactSet) data distribution platforms.
  • Project manage various client transitions, working directly with key contacts responsible for administering data access at their respective firms to ensure that client access is maintained during and after each transition to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Develop into a well-rounded generalist, speaking competently on S&P DJI products and services. Understand the client’s question and escalate inquiries appropriately to internal Subject Matter Experts in other departments as necessary in an independent manner.
  • Work across a diverse set of cross-functional client teams including marketing, legal, operations, portfolio management, and product development and to understand and address unique client needs.
  • Draw insights from client interactions and communicate them effectively to appropriate internal teams in order to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Employ critical thinking skills to ask clients probing questions beyond their initial inquiry to provide value added responses.
  • Respectfully advocate for the client by both challenging existing processes and critically analyzing answers to ensure the client’s inquiry is thoroughly addressed.
  • Represent the client point of view when preparing and implementing modifications to data services.
  • Develop communications, FAQs, and project plans for various client transitions including platform updates, delivery enhancements and product decommissions.



  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • Portuguese language proficiency a plus
  • Strong written skills; must be able to communicate complex concepts in writing.
  • An independent self-starter; ability to work individually and within a team.
  • Comfortable presenting and training clients in both a one-on-one and group setting.
  • Experience coordinating and leading meetings; documenting action items and following through to completion.
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and organized with good time management skills.
  • Demonstrable proficiency using advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and Data Visualization.
  • Experience in Financial Services, preferably in a client-facing support role.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours.
  • Minimum education requirement: BA in Finance, Economics or related experience.
