The Role:

           

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join the Data Office within S&P Global Ratings.  This is a newly created position that will focus on transforming our Data Collection capabilities with the opportunity of working across S&P Global divisions.  The successful candidate will partner with senior leaders within the Data Office to ensure the initiation; planning and execution of Data Collection initiatives are effectively delivered.  The successful candidate will ensure project execution, streamlined activities and clear communication on Data Collection priorities. The right candidate for the job will contribute to the long-term success of the Data Office and our goal to utilize best-in-class people, process and technology across S&P Global to operationalize data collection

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the Data Management leads and other relevant stakeholders to develop and execute the Data Collection strategy

  • Facilitate Data Collection project planning, prioritization, implementation, monitoring and reporting

  • Assist with planning, and coordination of cross division initiatives focused on operational migration

  • Develop partnerships  across Operational teams and Business Partners to include stakeholders across the S&P Global organizations

  • Manage and partner with range of stakeholders including coordination with Legal, Control, HR, Finance, Ratings Business Partners, IT, BAs, Product management across S&P Global Ratings and S&P Global Market Intelligence:

    • Senior exec stakeholder communication including ExCo, COO, CDO, GPLs

 

  • Develop expertise in Operational processes, gain in-depth understanding of  business unit needs and outcomes
  • Drive forward end to end delivery of initiatives

  • Develop and understand the problem space

  • Achieve delivery based on deadlines

  • Coach and mentor Operational Managers through transformational change

  • Identify and manage/mitigate project risk and issues. Manage the project Change Control process

  • Assist with the creation of project proposals/business case, detailed estimates and funding memos

  • Demonstrate ability to work closely across Data Office functions and IT process

  • Contribute to the production of supporting data collection artifacts

  • Measure project performance by establishing robust benchmarks and metrics, drive successful post project metrics.

     

    Functional and Business Knowledge:

     

  • Experience managing operational transformation / migrations

  • Experience as a senior level data operations manager leading global teams

  • Ability to drive operational excellence and work effectively across multiple functions/divisions and Business Partners

  • Strong communication with experience of operating at the highest levels of leadership

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • 10+ years of industry experience managing large operational teams in Financial Services or a related industry;

  • An advanced degree (Masters or MBA)

  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments

  • Effective, versatile and action-oriented

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Problem solving: Leads and uses conceptual and innovative thinking (i.e. identifying new/different solutions) to solve issues.  Look beyond immediate problems for wider implications and determines best path forward.

  • Skilled communicator who influences and negotiates effectively

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and time management skills

  • Creative, results driven, self-motivated, and solutions oriented to execution

  • Attentive to detail and quality oriented; ability to execute in a timely and accurate manner
