Associate – Index Data and Content Acquisition (Mexico)
Associate, Index Data and Content Acquisition (iDACS) will support the S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI) centralized and growing function responsible for acquisition, utilization, and distribution of 3rd party content and services. The role will help implement internal controls to ensure that the use of 3rd party content and services contracts meet the needs of our businesses and ensure S&P DJI’s compliance with all terms and conditions, with a specific focus on content and services in the LatAm, Asia-Pac and Europe.
Partner with business stakeholders to review requests for additional content and services, clearly documenting and understand each request. Create RFI/RFP’s as necessary to send to prospective vendors and manage the RFI/RFP process end to end.
Actively participate in the vendor selection process, negotiate commercial and contractual terms in accordance with S&P DJI policies, obtain necessary business stakeholder approvals, manage rights and obligations post-execution and maintain positive and productive relationships with assigned 3rd party providers
Lead contract renewal process for all assigned vendors and agreements. Collaborate with business stakeholders to assess potential for re-evaluation and re-negotiation as may best benefit the evolving needs and budgets of the business.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date summaries of vendor relationships and related contracts terms that the Associate is responsible for managing
Perform Annual Due Diligence on assigned 3rd party providers as mandated by IOSCO and other Country/Region specific regulation
Implement and promote best practices, including identifying opportunities to optimize and leverage data sources.
Maintain and own positive and productive relationships with a variety of assigned current 3rd party vendors and exchanges, keeping abreast of all products and services offered by each vendor.
Proactively and consistently meet with business stakeholders, review news and periodicals, attend training and events to continuously grow and evolve knowledgebase of S&P DJI’s products and services, 3rd party vendor partners, and the overall financial information and market data industry.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with 3-5 years relevant experience focused on financial information/market data vendor relationship management, contract negotiations and overall market data management.
Fluency in English and Spanish is a must
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of content acquisition.
Familiarity with reviewing, revising, negotiating commercial contract terms a plus.
Attention to detail, follow-through on projects and multi-tasking skills a must.
Candidate must possess a solid knowledge of financial information and market data industry – including various vendors and products available in the marketplace.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Must have strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to be highly responsive and present solutions to requests and issues..
Comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Excellent presentation and writing skills with ability to influence.
Excellent organizational and team building skills. Must be highly organized and self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and adapt to change.
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communications skills with the ability to inspire others to find creative solutions to challenging situations or problems.
