Role: Manager, Global Tax Reporting


The Location: New York, NY


The Team: The Global Tax Reporting team manages the preparation and review of the global provision for income taxes and external reporting for income taxes.


The Impact: Accounting for income taxes and tax rules within the jurisdictions in which S&P Global operates are constantly evolving. To account for this complexity and to add efficiency to the process, the tax reporting group leverages technology whenever possible. In this role, you will have primary responsibility for maintaining these systems to ensure all calculations make use of the latest information obtained from multiple sources.


What’s in it for you:

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the domestic federal and state compliance groups to ensure the accurate calculation of all elements of the  domestic tax provision
  • Support Non US controllers in the use of tax software to complete tax provision calculations
  • Work with the tax planning group in support of tax planning initiatives as needed
  • Provide user training and maintain user and administrative documentation for all software used in the tax provision process


  • Administer the ONESOURCE Tax Provision application, including the ONESOURCE Global Access Module
  • Maintain the Company’s tax reserve inventory under ASC 740-10 (formerly FIN 48) in ONESOURCE Uncertain Tax Positions software
  • Provide general tax reporting support
  • Assist with the annual return to provision calculation and posting of adjustments
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of quarterly training for Non US controllers
  • Prepare journal entry templates for all entries recorded by corporate tax
  • Provide general ledger data as needed from Oracle via TM1 and Microsoft Access
  • Maintain the document management and workflow management systems for the tax reporting group in Microsoft SharePoint
  • Each reporting period, provide documentation for key calculations and other requested support to external auditors as directed
  • Serve as the primary liaison between tax reporting and corporate IT

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrated expertise in tax provision or tax compliance software
  • Experience in accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, project management and organizational skills required

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, computer science, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience (accounting or technology related field)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision is  highly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle and/or TM1 preferred
