Position Description


The Role:

Lead - Market Solutions (New Product & Services Development) 
 

The Location: Singapore

 

The Team: This team is newly set up to develop new revenue streams for the Ratings business by developing new solutions that serve financial market’s needs. The team will be encouraging new idea generation, researching them and converting them into profitable products in collaboration with other functions of the company. The team is small in size and will be working at a global platform from Singapore.
 

The Impact: The ‘Lead - Market Solutions’ will scan market intelligence globally with a strategic mindset to identify emerging market needs and conceptualize product ideas to address these. The person will then conduct initial feasibility analysis to progress worthy products by developing prototype, validating them in the market and prepare business case for the validated products. The person will then progress the business case through the appropriate new product decision forum for a final decision on adoption of the product for commercialization

Responsibilities:

  • Grow the global ratings business by augmenting product portfolio with profitable products that cater to emerging/unfulfilled financial market needs
  • Analyze market intelligence collected within S&P Global databases, with a strategic mindset, and conduct additional research to supplement it with the aim to understand financial market trends and spot emerging/unfulfilled market needs
  • Conceptualize product ideas that address market needs and leverage S&P Global Ratings capabilities
  • Filter the product ideas through feasibility screen on relevant factors like, market size, competitive landscape, return expectations, investment needed, regulatory considerations, etc. For this, interaction with Sales, Analytical, Finance and D&O teams will be needed
  • Present the product proposals in the appropriate MFD or S&P Global Ratings wide decision forums
  • Incorporating the decision forum’s advice, develop prototype for shortlisted products
  • Interface with Sales team to seek their suggestions and market feedback
  • Conduct market research/validation of the prototype to validate promising products
  • Prepare a business case for investment on selected products and present it in the appropriate S&P Global Ratings new product governance process
  • Finalize product design, production, marketing and selling plan for the products decided to be launched
  • Transfer the product to an assigned product manager with all the relevant documentation and development experience
  • Collaborate with other divisions on synergistic products that leverage on the cross-divisional capabilities


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree, degree in Marketing or related preferred
  • Minimum 10 year experience with at least 2 years of experience in a Strategy, Sales or Marketing function(s)
  • Ability to think strategically and business acumen
  • Ability to conduct market research, analyze and ‘connect the dots’
  • Ability to work within the global Market Solutions team, across teams (especially, Product Development team) and seek cooperation from others
  • Ability to prepare and communicate proposals, influence others and establish benefits for all relevant stakeholders
  • Project management capability and, ideally, experience
  • Experience with MS Suite (PowerPoint, Microsoft); experience with Salesforce is a big plus
