The Role: Research Assistant – Structured Finance – ABS Primary Ratings


The Location: Centennial, CO


The Team: The Research Assistant supports and assists the Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) analytical team in all aspects of the ratings process.


The Impact: As a Research Assistant, you will be working as part of the Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) team in the Structured Finance Ratings group at S&P Global Ratings. With the guidance of a senior analyst, a qualified Research Assistant typically supports the new issuance and surveillance analytical process for assessing ABS transactions supported by pools of consumer or commercial assets.

Responsibilities:
• Working with collateral pool stratifications and cash flow output.
• Update performance data and collateral information for ABS transactions.
• Conducting research and work to assist in the preparation of documents and presentations for rating committees.
• Attending and participating in ratings committee meetings.
• Maintaining and updating financial and economic information in databases, retrieving source documents, and working with surveillance tracking tools.
• Gain proficiency in the use of ratings criteria.
• Work on special projects as directed by the analytical team manager and or lead analysts.


What We’re Looking For:


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part a team.
• Strong ability to work with financial models and data, including cash flow and credit models.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients
• Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and possess the ability to multitask


Preferred Qualifications:
• Economics or finance degree
