The
Role:
Trucost, part of the S&P Global family, operated by S&P Dow Jones Indices is a leader in environmental data and risk analysis is seeking an Operations Manager & Business Analyst to join it Data Strategy & Operations team. The manager will be responsible for the management of Trucost’s Environmental Register database, the world’s largest database of corporate environmental impact information. The manager will manage Trucost's data analysis team to a defined high level of service and identify approaches to optimize quality and efficiency through technology.

The Impact: Trucost’s expertise is providing data leveraged analytics and insights on environmental, social, and governance (ESG), performance so that businesses and investors can understand how to direct investments that create value and avoid risk. We have been informing companies, financial institutions, regulators and thought leaders since 2000 and are considered innovators and thought leaders. Central to this approach is our advanced environmental profiling model enabling us to calculate a company’s environmental dependencies across its value chain, even if this information is not disclosed. In this role, you will contribute to the future design of Trucost’s research and data collection processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Trucost's data analysis team to a defined high level of service
  • Identify, recommend, and apply approaches to optimize research quality and process efficiency through technology (automation, machine learning, etc.)
  • Monitor database quality and address quality concerns
  • Support the design and documentation of data processes and workflows
  • Run status meetings with the data analyst management team and conduct analyst performance reviews

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing a data analysis team and optimizing business processes through technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The candidate should be conscious of detail and numerically proficient with natural curiosity and an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Interest in corporate sustainability, and environmental, social, and governance research

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information System, Information Management, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Understanding of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling & analytics
