Role: Project Manager, Public Affairs


The Location: New York City, 55 Water Street


The Team: The Public Affairs team is responsible for worldwide marketing, communications, government affairs and corporate responsibility for S&P Global and its four divisions. This high functioning team values a can-do attitude and collaborative spirit.


The Impact: This role helps ensure on time, quality delivery of key Public Affairs projects to internal and external stakeholder.  Efficient processes and attention to detail in this role will elevate the quality of work produced by the team, thus benefiting the entire company.


What’s in it for you: S&P Global’s Public Affairs team is seeking an experienced project manager for projects in the areas of government affairs, communications, corporate responsibility and branding.  The Project Manager works with the global Public Affairs team to apply experience and tools in managing complex, cross-functional projects including development of project management schedules, identification of key deliverables and follow up.

In addition to project management duties, this candidate will draft briefing materials and manage deliverables for executive meetings, events and travel.

This position reports to Chief of Staff, Public Affairs.



  • Manage cross-functional initiatives. Act as project manager and provide leadership for strategic initiatives. Ensures the timely and efficient completing of projects and initiatives.
  • Perform various assessments, analysis and metrics tracking of current and potential projects. Report progress as needed.
  • Manage deliverables for executive travel. Formulate agendas, schedules and supporting materials.
  • Manage team planning calendar and flag upcoming deadlines for Public Affairs leadership team.
  • Monitor the events calendar to ensure collaboration across the team.
  • Assist with management of projects jointly shared by Public Affairs and other corporate functions/divisions. 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated use of project management and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead a global, cross-function team.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communications skills. Ability to create professional business communications, including executive summaries, memos and presentations.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to translate high-level analysis into workable solutions
  • Organized individual who can multitask and manage competing priorities. Ability to successfully function in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and project management tools.
  • Some travel may be required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean certified is a plus.
