The
Role: Manager, Global Risk Management & Insurance

 

The Location: 55 Water Street, NY

 

The Team: The team consists of the Senior Director, Analyst and Manager (this position).  The team is primarily responsible for the procurement of various insurance policies and management of claims.  There is a great deal of collaboration involved for the complex insurance renewals and projects.  Creativity, teamwork, accountability and a strong work ethic are important to the success of the team.

 

The Impact: This role involves identifying risks and procuring insurance to protect our business.  In addition, this position plays a key role in seeking insurance payments from our insurers for losses affecting our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the renewals of the professional liability (E&O, D&O), casualty and/or property coverages. 
  • Assist the Senior Director with the management of professional liability claims
  • Perform due diligence on mergers & acquisitions related to claims and insurance coverage.  Assist with the integration of acquired entities into S&P Global’s insurance program
  • Manage our consultant’s review of vendor/client contracts and ensure that appropriate insurance requirements are negotiated into the contracts and that they comply with corporate objectives
  • Evaluate and provide input on recommendations offered by our outside consultant on casualty claims   
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as requested by Senior Director


What We’re Looking For:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 7 or more years of risk management, underwriting or insurance brokerage experience, preferably in the professional or financial services industries
  • Technical expertise and industry knowledge
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with professional liability claims
  • ARM or CPCU designation a plus
