The Role: Software Developer II

The Location: Charlottesville or Richmond, VA

The Team: External API team is responsible for client facing API that serves customers with millions of requests/day. The demand for content and usage grows every year. The team builds a scalable and robust solution for its customer. There are opportunities for innovation and learning new state of the art technologies. Quality is primary for the API as it is the fundamental source of data for many applications. The team is in geographically diverse location (NJ, NY, India, Denver)

The Impact: API is primary to lot of internal products within the company. The use of restful API is trending among customers as well. Customers build their core products that depend on our API. We would be adding more content and features for the API in the next few years.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing expertise in one or more of our proprietary enterprise software products.

  • Using your broad technology capability set and maintain a level of excitement in using various technologies to develop, support, and iteratively deploy real enterprise class software.

  • Achieving an authoritative level of understanding of our customers’ environments and their use of our products.

  • Building solutions architecture, algorithms, and designs for solutions that scale to the customer's enterprise/global requirements

  • Applying software engineering practices and implement automations across all elements of solution delivery

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years (3 to 5) of experience on hands-on C# development and related technologies

  • Has worked with back end technologies based on both C#,LINQ,Generics,ADO.NET,ENTITY FRAMEWORK,MVC,WEBAPI,OData Services,WCF and latest frameworks.

  • You will have experience working with two or more of data related technologies and familiarity with others from various Relational databases, Nosql databases, Caching systems, Full Text Search engines, Big Data systems.

  • Experience with the TDD approach, doing unit testing, mocking, integration/UI testing, behaviour driver testing.

  • Experience setting up and configuring continuous integration and delivery systems, and code quality automation technologies.

  • Knowledge of one or more architecture patterns and familiarity with others.

  • Can resolve serious performance related issues by using various techniques, including testing, debugging and profiling.

  • You have knowledge of front end technologies including templating, CSS and JS frameworks.

  • Has good current hands-on development experience.

  • Knowledge of complete product life cycles, quality metrics, evaluating technologies.

  • A true “roll up the sleeves and get it done” working approach; demonstrated success as a problem solver, operating as a result-oriented, self-starter

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
