The
Role: Senior Account Executive- Platts RigData Sales

 

The Location:  Houston, Texas

The Team:

Responsible for sales origination and account management focusing on the upstream businesses associated with the North American oil and gas industry. Individual will have assigned clients and expected to develop new clients for the company.

The Impact:

Following the successful acquisitions made by S & P Global this role is essential to the team integrating Platts analytics solution that integrates RigData, PIRA, and Bentek into the North American upstream and midstream energy industry. The key metrics and milestones are sales related with emphasis on revenue capture, retaining existing companies, expanding Platts Offerings into existing clients and developing new logos.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for revenue targets that include retention &  growth
  • Manage the renewal sales process for existing customer base, including setting of expectations, changing needs assessments, negotiating contracts and processing of contracts via relevant internal systems.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities
  • Develop knowledge of all Platts RigData and Platts Analytics products and services.
  • Identify cross sell opportunities
  • Represent product line at various customer events and trade shows as required
  • Follow-up on all inbound client inquiries to uncover new and expanding opportunities
  • Prospect, present to and close on new sales opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of, and participate in all relevant training for, new products and market them to account base 

 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong presentation skills.  Ability to conduct effective presentations to all levels of clients
  • Knowledge of contracts and proposal process
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities, develop effective strategies and close business
  • Ability to develop account and territory plans to achieve penetration and grow revenue
  • Team player who works collaboratively with colleagues, management and all points of the organization
  • Ability to travel for commercial development- approximately 30-40 %

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree ( Preferred but not required) ;
    • Focus in business with an oil and gas related discipline considered a plus
    • Geology, engineering or business development  considered

 

Required Experience

 

  • Minimum of 5 years selling information products, applicable software solutions,  or consulting with the oil and gas upstream segment
  • Solid understanding of the Energy industry
