Responsibilities of Senior Application Architect:

  • Recommends and participates in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise

  • Researches overall solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs- Leads the evaluation of vendor software targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools, and utilities.

  • Conducts and/or actively participates in meetings related to the designated project/s, both locally and internationally, with clients and/or partners.

  • Advises and recommends enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.

  • Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise longterm strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.

  • Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.

  • Collaborates with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the EA. Recommends the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level.

  • Recommends and participates in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.

  • Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption

  • Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies.

  • Observe and understand the broader system environment

Essential Experience


  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in architecting frameworks and tools for delivering technical solutions which meet mission critical business objectives

  • Experience of architecting software solutions with demanding non-functional requirements such as security, single sign on, high availability, scalability, Service-Oriented/API governance, containers including virtualization and Microservices.

  • As a JEE/SOA architect for JEE-based stack , this job requires broad Understanding of modern web-application frameworks and best practices around each layer- Spring, AngularJS, Scala, streaming analytics. BI analytics products and tools.

  • Hands on experience designing User Interface (responsive applications), business services (REST, SOAP), data taxonomies and underlying support (RDBMD, NoSQL).

  • Experience of integration patterns and technologies (for example, Websphere MQ, Sonic or other ESBs)
    Drive the definition and adoption of enterprise reference architectures and development standards using frameworks like TOGAF,Zachman.

  • Manage special technology projects and initiatives as assigned

  • Must have a strong understanding of DevOps principles with experience in each of the DevOps areas of practice (Source Control - Subversions, Build - Maven, test/Automated Test- JUnit, SOAPUI, JMeter) knowledge of environment – Puppet - a plus but not required.

  • Strong ability to write technical documents, support requirements decomposition, coordinate working POCs and evolve to deployable code, ability to present designs to peers and Product Owner for approval, Deep understanding of all lifecycle components (code, test, deploy), DevOps, environments.

  • Ability to balance business priorities with technical requirements

  • Ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations.
