Portfolio Manager/Transaction Manager, S&P Global Ratings


The Role: S&P Global Ratings seek a Portfolio/Transaction Manager to be the main point of commercial contact for a set of named client accounts in Italy and the six Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) countries. The role will be based in London or Milan.


The Impact: This role impacts quality, timeliness of results, planning and revenues of budgets of own team and related teams.


The Career Opportunity & Scope: Primary focus of the role is managing their own work with limited supervision, in addition to providing on-the-job training/support to new team members.

You will :

  • Through analyzing the needs of a portfolio of on-strategic accounts identify upselling and cross selling opportunities for established and new products; execute on those opportunities;
  • Maintain and grow revenue within those same existing assigned accounts, by managing the renewals process and by closely tracking issuance developments and ensure all potential revenues are billed;
  • Execute end to end sales fulfilment process including correct order execution, ensuring timely delivery and liaison with finance;
  • Create and develop a tactical sales plan for the assigned portfolios and/or business based on client feedback; Manage negotiations of commercial and contractual deals for non-strategic client opportunities, involving Head of Portfolio Management in process when necessary; 
  • Manage all related customer inquiries for the portfolio of clients; maintain awareness of market and industry trends, and review all available collateral from marketing and develop an understanding of the competitive situation; 
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Relationship Management and Transaction Management representatives to manage the proposal and contract creation process;
  • Provide support for Business Development/Relationship Management representatives in handling transactional customer queries including accurate billing and system entry to ensure maximum revenue realization


Your Skills:
Very good Italian and English language skills, both oral and written. You must have the ability to understand customer problems and implement a solution strategy to meet the client’s needs. You will have a good understanding of key market trends in S&P’s key market sectors (FI, Corporates, Sovereign, Public Finance, Structured Products) in Italy and Middle East. Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations; considers best practices and lessons learned to evaluate solutions. Makes decisions after analyzing multiple sources, internal and external and uses highly developed communications skills and ability to negotiate internally and often at higher levels. You should be highly numerate and IT literate.
