The Role: S&P Global Market Intelligence, a subsidiary of S&P Global, is currently searching for an Italian Speaking Sales Representative to join the Non-Financial Corporate Team in London. As a Sales Representative, you are responsible for promoting and consultatively selling a portfolio of products to current and target customers. You will identify key decision makers and influencers with target prospects and execute sales strategy with the sales team, client services, product management, operations, technology, and legal to optimize product and service delivery.

The Impact: Your contribution and dedication to your role is critical as you have a direct impact on business generation in the Non-Financial Corporate space across Southern Europe. Prospective clients include Government and Regulatory Bodies, Corporations, Professional Services, Academics. In this role you will build executive level relationships, understand their businesses and diagnostically help clients identify fundamental financial information requirements, whilst positions S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions.

You have in-depth knowledge of the financial market industry, in particular treasury, debt-capital markets, M&A and well-aware of current trends. You have strong personal integrity and negotiation skills.

  • Lead the sale of S&P Global Market Intelligence Desktop products/services to Corporate, Government and Professional Services clients.

  • Maintain or grow sales at or above quota.

  • Identify and initiate new client relationships.

  • Establish appointments with senior level executives of these organisations. 

  • Develop and nurture deep and strong relationships with client organizations, addressing their needs, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Develop an exceptional understanding of S&P Global Market Intelligence products and their application to specific clients/job functions.

  • Produce accurate sales forecasting and keep an up-to-date pipeline, contacts and meeting notes in CRM system.

  • Staying current on competitor offerings to identify the strengths and vulnerabilities of S&P Global Market Intelligence offerings in comparison.

  • Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of industry regulatory requirements, market trends and client requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • At least 4+ years plus direct experience working in the financial industry in a client facing or analytical role (investment banking, equity research, commercial lending, money management, credit analysis or financial consulting preferred) or information services industry (same industry as S&P Global Market Intelligence) 

  • Proven track record in consultative sales is a plus.

  • Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrates exceptional skills in listening to clients, articulating ideas and complex information in a clear and structured manner. 

  • Strong personal integrity and a confident and positive manner.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency.

  • Analytical capabilities in the areas of credit risk, financial modeling and valuation analysis is desirable.

  • Work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently.

  • Strong MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills are required, and any knowledge of CRM databases (such as would be advantageous

  • Experience having used other data vendor services such as Factset, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Fitch, Moody’s, etc would be a plus

  • Fluency in Italian and English (other European languages would be advantageous)
