The Role: Are you ready to start your career in research? Do you want to develop a deep understanding of financial markets? As an assistant analyst, you will support the Leveraged Commentary & Data Group (LCD) by collecting and analyzing information and maintaining the proprietary database.


The Location: New York, NY


The Team: We are a team of nearly 30 analysts and reporters who work every single day to combine real-time news and trend analysis on U.S. and European leveraged loan, high-yield bond, distressed debt and corporate markets. The Impact: Our trend analysis, research and reports contextualize the current market against 20 years of historical data. Your work relates to data providers in the marketplace, information input into the index, and outpost reports provided back to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and update leveraged loan and high yield bond profiles based upon bank books and prospectuses gathered from the market.

  • Aggregate information from market sources.

  • Support the production lifecycle for research reports and analysis.

  • Partner with senior analysts and other group members on data collection processes and analysis projects.

  • Build a deep knowledge of leveraged finance markets. This includes the mechanics of the markets, syndication processes and documentation.


What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business or related discipline

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices

  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in finance or accounting

  • Experience with research and analysis of financial statements or market data

  • Knowledge of MS Access or relational databases
