Senior Innovation Manager, London.


The Team: The Platts Innovation Team is responsible for leveraging new technologies and business thinking to deliver on global innovation projects, which accelerate Platts’ positive, valuable impact in energy and commodities.

The Impact:
o The successful candidate will help the Global Innovation Director develop and grow a best in class Innovation team.
o The role involves setting standards for execution excellence, applying lean and agile principles to commercial product ideation and delivery. 
o By crafting strategy for innovation projects and leading them to success, you will have the opportunity to drive change in traditional commodity marketplaces.

o Lead different cross-functional teams to execute and deliver on the innovation portfolio’s projects, taking on product and project management responsibilities with a hands on approach. Drive fast product iteration and improvement via effective consolidation of all user research and market feedback.

o Work with stakeholders to identify market needs, translating into clear problem statements and use cases. Drive prioritization of these by utilizing data, metrics and user research.

o Move problem statements and use cases to ideation, creation and improvement of innovative products.

o Maintaining an innovation backlog driving success towards strategic and business objectives, and generating long term value for the company.

o Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the commodity and financial ecosystem.

What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications:
o Hands on experience in software application product management, having transformed product ideas to live products.
o Willing to commit 200% to driving success of the team’s projects.
o Highly self-driven, results oriented, execution oriented, and extremely hungry for responsibility and impact.
o Ability to wear many hats, be a bridge across every functional team and be ready to fill in gaps where needed to deliver successfully.
o Demonstrably effective at listening; persistent and creative in problem solving. Strong sense of collaborative teamwork and leadership.
o Highly effective interpersonal communication and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience in commodity markets, and great interest in solving problems for energy and commodity markets.
o Experience in data management or analytics.
o Start up working experience.
o Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish.
