The Role: Product Manager 

 

The Location: Houston, Texas 

 

The Team:  

The product manager will work closely with the commodity leads, colleagues in sales, global trading services, editorial, client services and the market to understand requirements, drive the value proposition and ensure a positive experience for our customers.

What’s in it for you:

The Product Manager will support the full spectrum of product strategy definition, design and delivery, including scoping, securing funding, development, and implementation to deliver commercially successful products. They will contribute to the product strategy and roadmap helping to build the optimum product mix, formulating and promoting product enhancements and changes. Managing complex, multi-stream projects, the role-holder will interact with stakeholders, data providers, and users, technical and operational functions and be fully ‘hands-on’.

 

 

Responsibilities:

The ideal person for this role would have robust knowledge of commodities trading and logistics with a strong preference for oil and refined products. They will have experience in bringing products to market, including feasibility assessment and testing, and negotiating development through a large, highly-matrixed organization and delivering commercial results. 

 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in a product marketing, product management (or similar) role 
  • Bachelors required, MBA or higher degree preferred 
  • Consistent contributor with high motivation, the ability to take initiative, set priorities and drive tasks to completion whilst balancing strategic and operational pressures 
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and organized 
  • Comfortable with high levels of responsibility and accountability. Takes ownership for deliverables 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products: strong proven knowledge of the product lifecycle and the product management discipline 
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior management and speak publicly 
  • Accomplished at building relationships, has credibility with a proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders and secure their buy-in 
  • Resilient team player with the ability to flourish in a merit-based, professional culture  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, including representing Market Data in a matrix organization 
  • Strong end-user mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with users on all issues and deliver a positive experience at all times 
  • Strong numeracy skills and commercial mindset 
  • Prior user of Platt’s/Bentek products 
  • Prior user of Bloomberg, Reuters, Global View, DTN or other real time service
