The Role:  The Regional Field Marketing Manager/Sr Manager Asia has responsibility for planning, organizing and executing tactical multi-channel marketing programs to meet the strategic regional marketing plan to drive customer acquisition, retention and market engagement.   He/she will also be responsible for managing, coaching and developing a team of field marketing managers for their respective regions/functions.

The Impact: He/she will be the subject matter expert on selecting the right marketing channels to effectively meet the strategic marketing goals of the business. He/she will also be closely aligned with the Platts sales team and is responsible for ensuring that they have the marketing programs to meet their regional sales revenue targets. 

  

The Team / The Business:  This role will be a member of the Global Field Marketing team working alongside product management, product and solutions marketing, content, content marketing and sales. 

 

Responsibilities:

         Work closely with the Global and regional team. This includes::

  • Work as part of the regional marketing team (product marketing, product management, content, content marketing and sales)  to  develop and execute tactical regional marketing plans to meet strategic marketing goals

  • Work closely with global marketing functions to gain support required for regional marketing programs/plans

  • Analyze the impact of programs and communicate results to key stakeholders on a monthly basis

    Plan, organize and implement marketing programs to meet the strategic content, product and regional commercial  goals.  Yearly and quarterly planning and marketing review cadence.  This includes:

  • Plan and project manage marketing programs to accelerate sales pipeline, improve customer experience and loyalty, generate leads, speed up the sales cycle, pipeline acceleration and promote industry awareness to help strengthen the Platts brand. Tactics may include email, events, webinars, digital marketing and social media, video, adaptive e-mails, PPC, web demos, telemarketing, direct mail, exhibiting or sponsoring conferences.

  • Project manages all elements of the regional marketing programs to ensure they are delivered and executed according to deadline.

  • Develop and execute tactical marketing programs to support new product launches and key regional initiatives

  • Research, choose, design and manage live events to be included as tactics in the overall marketing mix, and ensure there is a cohesive pre-event, at-event and post-event strategy to increase engagement and response rates,  generate demand and leads.

  • Engage with content and product management teams to support benchmark protection and acquisition as well as product launches

  • Engage  with sales to determine tactical sales enablement needs, and work with product and solutions marketing to develop the sales enablement tools to support sales

  • Proactively engage with the direct and indirect sales teams to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of marketing activities

  • Evaluate, select and manage vendors that contribute to local marketing  programs including event  services, demand generation services, designers, and copywriters

  • Develop and implement target account strategy to support account-based selling working with sales

  • Communicate and educate the sales team regarding new and planned marketing activities including global, and regional programs

  • Draft and edit marketing copy for email programs based on input from product and solution marketing and working with appropriate copy writer vendors when necessary. 

  • Work with sales on field-based marketing program needs to grow sales pipeline and retain existing customers.

  • Work with sales to understand customer buying cycle  by tapping into your customer network to help inform you on how to best reach and communicate with your market

  • Manage the regional marketing budget and ensure marketing spend is kept up to date.  

  • Establish a regular cadence of reviewing programs and tactic results, detailed analysis of what’s driving the results, what can be improved, key learnings to be applied in  future programs/tactics. 

  • Data-driven marketing is critical and results oriented with key analytical mindset

  • Manage yearly and quarterly planning with global and regional teams and development of regional marketing campaign and programs in support of the business

  • Develop quarterly marketing reports and do in-depth review of program results in preparation of regional quarterly marketing review. 

  • Develop best practices and key learnings for global sharing and review

    Communicate the regional marketing  plans to internal stakeholders

  • Create and execute internal marketing communications and attend/participate in regular meetings with sales, product & solutions marketing and portfolio program managers and global marketing functions, where appropriate

  • Coordinate regular meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure open communication and alignment. With commodity business unit goals and solicit feedback on tactical marketing plans.

    Lead the Asia Marketing team

  • Act as a coach/mentor to members of the Asia Field Marketing team.

  • Become the go-to person for Marketing needs in Asia, representing the wider Marketing team in a region

  • Voice for Asia as its important to provide a view of Asia requirements to the Global  team

     

Qualifications:

Essential Skills

  • More than 10 years in b-to-b marketing  including  managing, coaching and developing a remote team

  • Proven experience working with sales teams and supporting programs to drive awareness, generate leads  and progress sales to close;

  • Ability to consistently produce results on time and within budget

  • Ability to align multi-channel tactical plans with commodity business strategy

  • Digital marketing execution experience is mandatory with proven results

  • Strong  communication  and presentation skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Able to develop strategies for creating pipeline for new offerings as well as upsell, cross-sell and account-based marketing programs to grow existing relationships

  • Knowledge of marketing subscription-based product lines

  • Leadership and  people manager skills required

  • Ability to speak and read Mandarin is preferred due to focus on Asia markets with marketing content in mandarin

  • Analytical mindset is required

  • Must be able to navigate a matrix organization with global stakeholders in multiple departments  

  • He/she must be able to balance the desires of the stakeholders with the needs of  regional business

  • Experienced working in Asia Pacific preferred with regional market knowledge and understanding of business culture and mindset

Preferred Skills

  • Experience of managing a remote team would be an advantage

  • Experience of working in the energy markets

  • Experience in account base marketing

  • Experience in working in matrix organisation
