The Role: 2018 S&P Global Market Intelligence Risk Services Intern 

The Location: New York, NY, USA


The Team: Risk Services is responsible for monetizing and leveraging S&P Global’s significant risk intellectual property (research, content, models, data, analytics and solutions) to serve clients in managing complex risk challenges.  We own distinct products but also collaborate closely with other segments in Market Intelligence and across S&P Global.


The Impact: The S&P Global Market Intelligence Risk Services Internship Program is a ten-week, full time position beginning in June 2018.  Interns will be expected to work well within a team and demonstrate exceptional learning agility, creativity, and problem solving skills. They will be able to apply their skills to real-world investment challenges, gain experience in communicating their ideas in a professional environment and tackle problems at the forefront of the debate between passive and active investing.


What’s in it for you: Risk Services Summer Interns will be offered the opportunity to assist S&P Global Market Intelligence with leveraging our significant credit intellectual property (research, content, models, data, analytics and solutions) from across the S&P Global portfolio to serve clients in managing complex credit risk challenges. An intern’s responsibilities depend on the business group they support. Such groups include: Product Management, Product Operations, Credit Analytics, Innovation, and Relationship Management. The Summer Internship Program will start June 2018.


Responsibilities: Interns may work on projects such as:

  • Product development and roadmap planning for client-facing products
  • Conducting market research on potential Fintech opportunities
  • Interns will spend a significant amount of time utilizing excel to conduct data analysis in response to sales and client inquiries
  • Analysis of Risk Management participants in specific sectors/industries

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Permanent work authorization for the United States is required
  • Rising Senior from an accredited university or college is required
  • All majors welcome; Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, and Finance majors preferred

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Preferred 3.2 GPA
  • Strong communication (good verbal skills, listening techniques, and a clear, concise writing style)
  • Able to learn quickly, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand importance of building strong relationships and partnering with team members
  • Problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail and organizational abilities to work efficiently with clients
  • Intellectually curious; the ability to learn quickly
  • Significant comfort level with suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
