The Role:
Marketing Copywriter

The Location:
Charlottesville, Virginia

Team: S&P Global Market Intelligence’s marketing team strives to positively influence pipeline, drive client engagement, and build brand through creative marketing programs, differentiated channel management, and operational excellence. The marketing team is composed of creative and enthusiastic B2B marketing professionals located around the world.

Impact: The work you do will serve as the voice of our division, knitting together all of our external-facing assets to tell persona-based stories that resonate in today’s marketplace. This role has a vital connection to counterparts in corporate and other divisions to ensure a cohesive master brand presence. You will have a deep understanding of our business and be able to convey our unique value propositions to target audiences with engaging copy utilized on commercial materials – from brochures to webpages to presentations. You should be ideally already established as a great writer, but looking to grow your skillset and write for a variety of channels and audiences.

  • Writing creative, brand- and legal-compliant copy for online and printed materials
  • Understanding target audiences to succinctly package themes into persona-based stories
  • Actively create and maintain an inventory of assets to be used for product roadmaps
  • Liaising with subject matter experts and product owners to understand go-to-market strategies and how each asset supports our goals and strategy
  • Creating and being responsible for a central repository of PowerPoint assets to support bespoke Sales and other external presentations
  • Providing copy-writing and editing support to the global marketing team to ensure proper application of the corporate style guide, brand voice and the diagnostic approach
  • Conducting discovery meetings with partners and turning ideas and concepts into succinct, clear, and engaging messages


  • BA or MA in English, Literature, Language or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years as a copywriter; B2B financial services copywriting experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfolio of work demonstrating ability to write persuasive, articulate short and long form copy for a number of mediums
  • Comprehensive proofreading, formatting, and editing skills with precise attention to detail, especially in adhering to a style/voice/grammar guide
  • Ability to craft marketing copy from idea inception to presentation with an understanding of nuances for each delivery channel
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of various financial data with awareness of advertising and marketing trends in the financial B2B world
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal with proven experience meeting deadlines in energizing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred
