Reporting to the European Head of Gas and Power Analytics, this exciting role will be pivotal in leading a small team tasked with building and developing numerical models and analytical tools which support our market-leading services. The role will leverage your detailed knowledge of numerical modelling techniques, gas and power market knowledge and could also draw on your team management skills.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the models and technical tools that support the European gas and power analytics products

  • Harness existing data sets and, where appropriate, identify new, valuable data sets for collection and analysis. Contribute to the rigorous review of the quality of that information

  • Engage with customers, market experts and potential customers, demonstrating expertise and acting as ambassador for Platts’ pursuit of analytical excellence

  • Communicate expertise through the creation of compelling “must-have” models and tools that help customers make better-informed trading, risk management and investment decisions

  • Leverage numerical models to help shape the Platts European gas and power stories by analyzing all factors that contribute context to the current and future value of natural gas in European markets, and their interaction with global gas markets. Play a part in identifying emerging trends early and, where possible, anticipate market movements

  • Articulate expertise and thought-leadership through a variety of media which could include podcasts, webinars, video, TV, conferences and forum speaking engagements

  • Be responsible for leading and developing a small team of analysts, ensuring business needs are balanced with career development of team members

The Career Opportunity:  This is a role with significant potential for development within a short timeframe. You will lead a key part of Platts’ analytical services and their development. In addition, there will be ample opportunity to contribute to other areas of our market leading modelling and analysis, and to lead customer-facing activities, including webinars and conference presentations.

The Team / The Business:  You will manage a sub-team within the wider European Gas and Power Analytics team which comprises international specialists with outstanding knowledge of European and global gas and power markets.

Your Experience & Skills:
