The Role: 
The S&P Global Platts Social Media Manager will be responsible for working with many departments, including Marketing, Conferences, Communications, Editorial, Analytics and Sales to advise on how social media can be used as a key tool to engage with our customers and the wider market as well as drive and contribute to lead generation. They will provide strategic and hands on support and lead the way in best practice education and keeping up with the latest social trends.

The Career Opportunity:  The successful candidate has the opportunity to grow the use and impact of social media within S&P Global Platts. They will work with stakeholders across many levels, cultures and commodities, which will involve international travel. Part of the role will also include investment in additional training – both specific to digital marketing and in soft skills.

The Team / The Business: This role sits within the digital group of the Digital Demand Centre, which is part of the Global Marketing & Conferences department. This is a global team with key hubs in London, Houston, Denver, Singapore and Boston. The role would also work with a wider social media group made up of representatives from all the division across S&P Global and Enterprise.  


  • Provide training on social media best practice and use of Hootsuite
  • Provide campaign support for social at both a company , campaign and program level – advise on how social could meet objectives & target audience and then review content
  • Conduct social listening and apply to S&P Global Platts social activities
  • Create case studies and regular reporting with value-add commentary and learnings
  • Understand the customer journey and what role social plays in that
  • Drive adoption of social across the company as part of corporate culture
  • Work with our Field Marketing & Demand Center teams on paid campaigns – campaign development, landing page development and agency management
  • Help build & regulate online communities within each of our commodities
  • Support major events with messaging and live tweeting
  • Monitor social activity for reputational issues
  • Drive social influencer/advocacy activity
  • Work with Sales on optimizing use of LinkedIn Sales Navigator


Knowledge & Skills:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing social media and a strong understanding of the relevant platforms (audience, purpose + best practice)
  • Experience using social publishing/scheduling/engagement tools (Hootsuite a plus)
  • Strong B to B marketing experience
  • Knowledge of the commodity markets a plus
  • Educational Requirements- Bachelors Degree in a related field (Marketing degree a plus)
  • Expertise in creating and analyzing data to provide actionable insight
  • Expertise in balancing the desires of the stakeholders with the needs of the Platts business and the specific objectives associated with digital marketing programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and comfortable communicating at many levels
  • Excellent organization and planning skills with an ability to manage multiple projects, delivering each on time
