The Role: Senior Manager, Internal Communications APAC

The Location: Hong Kong

The Impact: APAC is an important and growing region for Ratings and S&P Global, and is be a big area of focus for us.  In this role, you will be working side by side with S&P Global Ratings Leaders to ensure that our employees in the APAC region are engaged and empowered with the essential information they need to contribute and excel in their role.  Their success is our success. 

The Team: Asia-Pacific is a very important region for S&P Global Ratings. Growth prospects are strong and plans are underway to expand our business presence.

Hong Kong is the largest hub for S&P Global Ratings in Asia-Pacific, consisting of a large analyst employee base, mostly focused on the China cross-border bond market. Singapore is also a key hub for the region with Southeast Asia and India representing growth opportunities.

The S&P Global Public Affairs team in Asia-Pacific is small and located in HK, Beijing, Melbourne and Tokyo. This is the only internal communications role in the region and is mostly dedicated to S&P Global Ratings.

  • Work with the Ratings Internal Communications Leader and Ratings APAC senior leadership to develop and execute internal APAC strategic communications that enhance engagement, shape and reinforce brand &culture in support of Ratings and S&P Global objectives
  • Write key messages to be delivered to employees in APAC
  • Manage intranet content; develop feature stories, support events and create videos to promote S&P Global and Ratings strategies and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Ratings Communications leaders and other colleagues across Public Affairs and S&P Global, to ensure global presentation of Ratings APAC  information; recommend communications best practices for the region
  • Partner with other S&P Global businesses to best support internal communications in APAC showcasing our global brand voice
  • Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement integrated internal communication programs and activities to ensure successful achievement of business objectives
  • Draft content, secure approvals, and distribute and track internal announcements
  • Develop and manage a monthly Ratings APAC e-newsletter
  •  Keep the Ratings APAC intranet homepage fresh and support the local teams in managing their sites
  • Supporting APAC leadership communications, including quarterly business updates, strategy updates, videos, town halls, events and other related APAC activities to promote leadership and business goals within the organization
  • Support Compliance and Risk Management functions in support of division-wide initiatives
  • Support HR team in developing effective employee communications for APAC initiatives, including performance management, talent, employee engagement and career development
  • Produce and manage the distribution of Ratings executive and employee videos in APAC
  • Identify success metrics and accountabilities. Employ analytics tools to measure effectiveness of communications (emails, intranet and video).  Prepare regular reporting to APAC Ratings management and Ratings Communications Leader
  • Consult with Ratings leaders, Public Affairs teams members, and colleagues within S&P Global to plan and implement APAC internal communications programs
  • Work with Internal Communications colleagues within S&P Global and across all divisions to plan and execute enterprise-wide program events in the Asia Pacific Region

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 7-9 years of experience in developing and implementing employee communication & engagement activities in a commercial international business environment with multi countries and various cultures
  • University degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism or related fields
  • Proficient in writing and verbal skills in English and ideally in Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Excellent editing and presentation skills; must be detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and regulated businesses is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in developing and executing internal communication plans for change initiatives or business transformation highly advantageous
  • Experience of building engagement across remote teams highly advantageous
  • Strong relationship builder; works effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Must be a team player and goal-oriented
  • Must be able to work remotely in an effective manner with leaders and team members
  • Understanding and awareness of employee engagement and change management strategies
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated competency in strategy and plan development
  • Past experience working in a regulatory environment is a plus
