The Role: We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our EMEA Corporate Ratings Research Team as an Associate. This individual will be primarily responsible for maintaining analytical datasets and developing tools for evaluating, aggregating and presenting data to enhance the relevance and impact of our publications. This will enable the individual to contribute to high-quality cross-sector research for publications. Research and data sources include S&P Global Ratings’ analytical assessments and financial forecasts on more than 1,000 rated companies in EMEA, macroeconomic forecasts from our regional economists, as well as external providers of industry and financial market data. The individual will collaborate with other members of the Corporate Ratings research team outside London as well as our regional economists, leaders of our credit conditions committees, sector leads and other senior analysts to produce a wide variety of research projects and thought leadership commentaries.

Your Skills: The successful candidate will have relevant experience working in a research role for a financial firm or as a journalist and demonstrable quantitative skills are essential. Excellent writing and presentation skills, knowledge of financial markets and a strong analytical mind-set are key requirements. Experience of economic and market data platforms such as Datastream would be advantageous. A specific background in corporate credit analysis is helpful, although not required.
•A higher university degree in Finance/Economics or another relevant subject area
•Strong writing and presentation skills; ability to identify key messages and communicate clearly and concisely
• Experience maintaining and analysing financial data, with a proven ability to display analytical insights in a clear and compelling manner in publications
•Solid knowledge of the basics of credit analysis and ability to understand company financial statements
•Excellent attention to detail
•Flexible and open mind-set and excellent interpersonal skills
•Very good team player combined with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while adhering to all deadlines
