The Role: APAC Regional Sourcing Manager

The Location: Singapore or Hong Kong

The Team: You will be joining a high performing global procurement team responsible for supporting $500m of non-IT indirect expenditure. The team comprises of and is based in:

  • Head of Global Sourcing (New York)
  • Global Category Manager for HR (New York)
  • Global Category Manager for Professional Services, Sales & Marketing (New York)
  • Global Category Manager for Travel, Meetings and Conferences (New York)
  • Global Category Manager for  Enterprise Services (New York)
  • EMEA Regional Sourcing Manager (New York)
  • NORAM/LATAM Regional Sourcing Manager (New York)

The team and your role is supported by:

  • Procurement Captive Center (based in India)
  • Outsource Procurement Center (based in India)

The Impact: Reporting to the Head of Global Sourcing, the APAC Regional Sourcing Manager is responsible for APAC sourcing initiatives, vendor management and engaging with stakeholders at a local level. The APAC Regional Sourcing Manager will assist Global Category Managers (GCM) with sourcing and implementation of global suppliers, along with developing regional stakeholder influence to assist the GCM. The role will act as the APAC point of contact and exponent of ‎corporate policy, processes and procedures, and category decisions.

The role will establish and coordinate regional sourcing activities across multiple spend categories comprising of Professional Services, HR, Travel, Meetings & Conferences, Enterprise Services, Marketing, Sales and Telecoms.  This role will also partner with business leaders to manage demand based on business demands and financial budget targets.

Strategy and Planning

  • Working with Global Category Managers (GCM’s) to create and executing regional sourcing plans in alignment with category sourcing strategies.
  • Identify and implement regional change management and business process transformation to promote growth of ideas
  • Identify and champion regional cost and demand management opportunities to drive procurement value  
  • Regional point of contact and exponent of ‎sourcing policy, preferred suppliers and category decisions


  • Assist with sourcing and implementation of global suppliers
  • Deliver regional sourcing events (RFx’s, negotiations etc) to source and implement APAC suppliers
  • Develop regional stakeholder influence to assist GCM in implementation of category plans
  • Ensure GCM is aware of cultural, political, legal and social challenges that may exist, and provide support in overcoming these challenges.

Vendor Management

  • Working with GCM’s and VMO as regional point of contact for management of global suppliers
  • Responsible for managing relevant regional suppliers including:
  • Performing regional vendor reviews
  • Issue resolution and SLA tracking
  • Annual objectives and service improvement initiatives
  • Ownership of supplier tools and processes
  • Payment of relevant supplier invoices

Travel Management

  • Responsible for regional management of the S&P Global Travel Management program
  • Work with Procurement Operations to deliver spend analytics and reporting metrics
  • Establish KPI’s for category performance

Procurement Operations:

  • Regional point of contact for global procurement systems and processes, working alongside the Global Procurement Operations lead.
  • Responsible for providing relevant training and disseminating information regarding new systems and processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in a professional procurement function
  • Strong experience working in multiple categories across multiple APAC countries
  • Proven experience delivering sourcing events across multiple categories including the ability to negotiate complex decisions
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships both internally and externally with key stakeholders and vendors with deep knowledge of vendors and trends to inform category planning
  • Excellent project management, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Superior presentation oral and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail required
